As part of my last project at Futuregames I chose to explore a game genre that i really like: racing! My biggest goal with this game is to bring a lot of inspiration from animation (feature film and animated series) mixed with games itself. I also wanted to challenge myself to work with vehicles and complex environments.
Vehicles exploration: different colors and 3D models used as reference. For this project, I used Blender Grease Pencil tool to explore design in 3D ,try different light setups and angles. It's a very powerful tool that speeds up the workflow and lets you explore complex shapes in different and pushed camera angles.
Asset breakdown and architecture concepts for the game hub and first racing track 'Volcano Village', inspired by a mix between Nordic and South American cultures
